This isn't the email I thought I'd be sending out today, and I debated whether to even send it.
Yesterday my father, Robert Mawhinney, passed away unexpectedly - and it still hasn't sunk in yet.
I last spoke with him Thursday night, and my brother talked with him Friday night and he sounded good, but less than 12 hours later he was gone.
My dad wasn't touchy-feely or the type of guy who wore his emotions on his sleeve - but we knew he loved us and we're going to miss him.
This sounds cliche, but it's true:
Appreciate your time with the important people in your life, since they won't be around forever.
Can you do me a favour? Take a few minutes to call one of them today ... that'll make me feel better.
RIP Dad,
Marc
