I'm talking about taking ACTION, not dilly-dallying or dithering about stuff. Not worrying about everything that could go wrong, but thinking about everything that could go right.
I had a call a few hours ago with someone I'd never spoken with before. He heard my podcast, and he's launching a coaching business that he wants help
with.
He hired me during that call, and I gave him 5 suggestions for various things to do, ranging from a book that I knew would help ("The Prosperous Coach") and grabbing a PayPal.me account to make it easier for clients to pay him.
Just a few minutes ago, only an hour or so after we got off our call, I had a message from the new client ... he completed all 5 tasks already (that must be a new record?!).
No procrastinating. No naval-gazing. No
humming and hawing. No deliberations and asking friends who have never built a business before what they think of the decision.
It's refreshing to see people who take the Nike approach and just do it ... I have no doubt that he'll do very well with his coaching business and his podcast (he's helping people recover from alcoholism, and his show will be called "Real Deal Recovery" if you want to check it out)
I'm not saying that you have to jump into
everything right away. Sometimes it's good to look at options and think things over. But if you're sure it's the right path to take, and you're still dithering, you have to ask yourself if you're ready to coach others to be bold and step out of their own way.
If you can't take bold, consistent action in your business and life what makes you think you can help others do it???
If you find yourself procrastinating a lot, try throwing caution to the wind for a week
and see how things go. You'll be surprised!
