The question isn't who is going to let you ...

For years I had entrepreneur friends tell me that I HAD to read "Atlas Shrugged" by Ayn Rand.

I bought the book (which weighs more than a small dog!), but it always seemed to stay on my bedside table, mostly unread.  I'd start, go for awhile, but then another book would enter the picture - and I'd move on from "Atlas Shrugged".

In the summer of 2014, I finally finished the book (I kinda cheated).  I bought the audio version on Audible, and I listened to it for an hour or so every day, while I walked a trail close to my home ...

It took 65 hours to finish the sucker in those hot summer days, but I'm glad that I did!

Here's my favourite quote by Ayn Rand:

"The question isn't who is going to let me; it's who is going to stop me"

This quote resonates with me because all too often people give up their power to others.  One word from a critic is enough to make them quit in discouragement.

But what if you recognized what you're capable of?  What if you took up the spirit of Ayn Rand's quote and pushed ahead?

What if you said "screw the critics"?  What would you do?  What could you do?

I'm not saying that you have to read "Atlas Shrugged" (although I think it's worth the time investment).  But I do recommend that you keep Rand's quote in mind, and start incorporating it into your daily actions,

Marc
