It's disappointing when someone we really want to work with isn't ready to commit.
We coaches want to help as many people as possible right now, and knock their socks off while we do it.
The client gets the results that she wants, and is so happy she refers her friends to work with us as well.
Sounds good, doesn't
it?
But we've all had situations where the person brushes us off ...
"Let me think about it ..."
"I'm crazy busy at the moment, I'll get back to you ..."
"It's not in my budget now, but I'll definitely work with you when I'm ready!"
"I don't need a coach"
Etc!
But just because someone says "No" right now, or goes MIA, doesn't mean that you won't ever work with that person.
In the last week, I've had 3 people who I spoke with a long time ago about coaching reach out to me and tell me that they're ready to work together now (and one was from almost 18 months
ago!)
The messages came as a (pleasant) surprise, but it reinforced something that we all tend to forget:
"No doesn't always mean no, sometimes it means not right
now"
It wouldn't hurt to reach out and check in with those potential clients you spoke with months ago to see how they're doing.
You might just be
surprised to discover that they're ready to get rolling,
