The Rio
2016 Olympics start tonight with the opening ceremony ... prepare to be flooded with a lot of Olympic coverage over the next few weeks!
I have a lot of respect for those who make it to the bright lights of that stage. They've devoted their whole lives to their goal, and that takes a ton of discipline.
I once had a conversation with a fellow coach who had the opportunity to work with former Olympic athletes as they moved onto
their post-athletic careers and lives.
He told me they were the best clients that he ever had. Why, you might ask?
Because Olympic athletes know the value of coaching. They've been coached since they were kids, and they've seen the benefits.
They believe so strongly in it that they wouldn't think of not getting coaching after their Olympic careers are over. They don't doubt, or second-guess
what coaching can do.
They've always had a coach, and probably will work with ones for the rest of their lives.
When you're choosing your clients, you want Olympic-type clients.
I don't mean clients that can beat Usain Bolt in the 100m, or break world records in the long jump or the shot put.
I'm talking about clients who respect the coaching relationship, and give it their all.
They hold up their end of the bargain, and if you do the same, amazing results can be achieved.
Business gets better once you hold your clients to a high standard: no BS, no excuses. You expect them to participate like they're trying to make the podium.
I've got a spot for an Olympic-type coach who wants to take their business to the next level. You won't even have to go to Rio, just head over here to learn more
