How to get business if you're a young whippersnapper

I just partnered with a young guy (22 years old) to help roll out a new digital strategy for my coaching business.

I didn't hesitate at all because of his age, I hired him because he's great at what he does and I know that he gets results.

(He's already worked with some huge players in the online space, including Grant Cardone)

Age is just a number, and too many people label others because of it.

I remember back when I got started in real estate, being a very young-looking 21 year old, and having to always fight the "youth objection"

I understood where they were coming from.  Homeowners and home buyers were hesitant to work with someone young and unproven, so I had to flip it around and turn my youth into an advantage.  Here's how I did it back then:

- "I'm young, but it means that I'm hungry and eager to make a name for myself - I'll work my butt off for you!"

- "I'm young, so I'm not off to Florida to vacation for two months every winter. I'll be here working for you"

- "I want to be #1. And to do that, I'm going to have to get results for people like you"

Etc etc etc ...

After some time, my age actually became an advantage, not a disadvantage.  Once people knew that I was in it for the long haul, and that I wasn't out partying and drinking my face off every weekend, they hired me.

Flash-forward and I was in my 30's when I got into coaching, with a few grey hairs.  Gone was the "youth objection" (I would LOVE to get that nowadays!)

It's funny how life goes - when I was 21, I thought 30 was old.  When I was 30, I thought 50 was old.  Now that I'm 38, my definition of "old" has continued to rise.

When I'm 80, I'll be thinking that I'm a lot younger than those 100 year olds.

Don't get hung up on your age, whether you're closer to 21 or to 100.  Age is just a number, and at the end of the day your clients care most about RESULTS.

We tend to overcomplicate things when it comes to coaching, but that's what it's all about ... getting the client from Point A to Point B.

Results.

I'm looking forward to getting rolling with the youngster that I just hired, even if I don't understand the music that all of those crazy kids listen to nowadays ...
