How to stay out of online course creation purgatory

A lot of people in Coachland want to launch an online course, which just makes good sense ...

It's a way to scale your business, reach more people, and make income while you sleep (sorry, I know that sounds like Internet Marketing guru-talk, but it's true.)

Yet I'd hazard a guess to say that the number of coaches who want to launch an online program but don't ever do it dwarfs those who actually DO launch one.

And if I were a betting man, I'd say that less than 25% of coaches who want to have their own online course actually get that baby out into the world.  It could even be 10% or 15%, who knows?

So why are so many online courses destined to stay stuck in limbo?  A common culprit is:

The myth that you have to have the whole thing completed before you launch!

Don't get me wrong, I'm not suggesting that you just pick a title, do nothing else, and then let it fly.

(if so, you'll be under the gun to churn out something VERY fast)

But as long as you have the structure in place, and some meat on the bones, you can fill in the rest as time goes on.

When I launched my online program "Your First 5 Clients" (www.YourFirst5Clients.com) I had maybe 30%-40% completed when it opened up for enrolment.

Since it would be dripped out as one module a week for eight weeks, that gave me time to fill in the blanks.  I couldn't screw around and take a year to finish it, but I had some breathing room.

And I even got good feedback from the early customers over what they wanted to see in the later stages of the program, which improved the program.

You don't have to have your course 100% complete at launch (unless the customer is getting the whole thing dropped at once, then that's a different story.)

Once you complete a portion of it, take action and get it launched.

If you'd like to learn more about how you can create, and sell, your first online course, check out the webinar that I'm doing with Sid Bharath of Thinkific next Tuesday:

Thinkific is the platform that I use and I highly recommend it.  Hope to see you there,
