Learning a thing or two from The Duke

Published: Sun, 08/21/16

I just finished reading a book, American Titan, about the life and career of Hollywood legend John Wayne.

(I'm on a bit of a biography kick at the moment)

John Wayne was in nearly 250 (no typo) movies, and came to be one of the most recognizable stars in the world.

Think "American Hero", and his name probably springs to mind.

But it wasn't always that way.  He had to toil in obscurity, and bounce back from numerous setbacks - including a major movie flop early in his career that pushed him out of starring roles for nearly a decade.

I took a lot out of reading this book, but my biggest takeaway was about the power of consistency.

John Wayne did so many movies that he was constantly in the public eye.  You couldn't go past a theatre without seeing his name and face on a movie poster.

He didn't hit it big with his first movie - it took time for him to seep into the American consciousness.

But he got there.

You'll have to take the same approach with your business:

Stay in front of your target market ...

Be consistent ...

Don't let them forget about you ...

Stick with it long enough, and you can do big things like John Wayne did.

The power of consistency is a big part of what I help my clients with.  And the coaches that I've been helping have been getting some great results.

If you'd like to get similar results in your coaching business, my next group program starts in September and there's still room.
