Miracles and podcasts

Every time I've done an anniversary episode for Natural Born Coaches, I've invited a special guest to come on the show. Back in March, I had Dave Sanderson on for episode #400 ...

Dave was on the plane involved in "The Miracle on the Hudson" in January 2009. Shortly after takeoff, US Airways Flight 1549 encountered a flock of Canadian Geese that knocked both of its engines out, and it had to make an emergency landing in the Hudson River.

Dave played a big role in staying on the plane until everyone else got out safely, and it's a miracle that nobody was killed in the ordeal.

During the interview, Dave talked about the movie that was being made about the incident, called Sully (starring Tom Hanks).

Knowing that the movie was being released, I kept my eyes open as the year progressed, and hoped that it did well in theatres once it was released.

Guess which movie came in #1 at the box office in its opening weekend last week?

That's right ... Sully. It made over $35 million in it's first weekend, and it's still going strong.

Hollywood keeps churning out superhero blockbusters, reboots and remakes, but there's something powerful about true stories of heroism and bravery.

Don't get me wrong - I love superhero movies as much as the next guy ... but superheroes that actually live in our world? Now THAT's powerful!

If you want to have a listen to the interview with Dave, here's the link:

And if you're looking for a good flick to catch at the theatre, check out Sully

On Wednesday, Jimena Cortes shared how you can get more clients from LinkedIn:

PPS. I was a guest on Heather Havenwood's podcast this week too - and it went in some surprising directions. We didn't hold back talking about coaching, entrepreneurship and some other stuff:
