A few days ago I sent an
email around to let people know about a new podcast hosted by a coach who some would say is my competition.
One of my subscribers asked if it was a smart idea to "promote competition" (no pun intended, since the coach I emailed about is Jamie Smart)
I look at competition a little differently than others: If something is good, and brings value to my community, I have no problem sharing it.
I sent
another email out earlier last week where I shared that I only have to work with a handful of clients (10-15, directly at any time) from the 7 Billion people in the world, so I'm not going to go hungry if I'm sharing other people's good stuff.
It's a big world out there, and I think we're better served if we look at it as collaboration, not competition.
In my experience, the people who cling to potential clients and
attempt to hoard business are insecure and acting out of fear.
Those people remind me of Gollum from Lord of the Rings ... you know, the creepy creature that's obsessed with the ring ("his precious")?
The marketplace isn't a pie with only a few pieces to go around. There's more than enough for all of us to do well and get a big piece of it.
That's how I've always acted as a coach,
and it's served me well.
If you want a bigger piece of pie for your business, check this out:
I'm off - all this talk about pie has my mouth
watering,
