Want to ride with me?

I've started deviating a lot from my usual reading material, in a quest to learn from places where I normally wouldn't look.

So I just finished reading a book about outlaw motorcycle clubs.  I'm the furthest thing from an outlaw biker, but I was pleasantly surprised at the lessons that I got from it.

The One Percenter Code by Dave Nichols talks about how every man needs to have a code to live by (similar to cowboys), and that humans have a need for belonging - which is why the clubs are so appealing for many people.

Bikers know that their fellow club members have their back. If they get into a scrape in a bar at 2 am, their brothers back them up.

It doesn't matter who's at fault, they protect one another. They never have to worry about being alone.

And the book even gets into personal development territory near the end, when Nichols writes:

"You can create the reality you wish to live by simply changing your point of view. If you don't like your life, change it; all it takes is a thought. Specifically, it takes guided thought, and you have to set intention for what you want to attract in your life ... Ultimately, the real mystery to how everything works in this world, the real secret or key to success, is you. You have everything you need to be whatever you wish to be and to manipulate reality and manifest whatever you please ..."

Deep stuff.

I view my group coaching programs like a motorcycle club of sorts. Everyone is committed to helping one another - by sharing successes, strategies, things that are working, and giving motivation.

It's cool to see members of groups from a year or two ago that have become friends and stayed in contact even long after the 12 week program ended.

If you're interested in belonging to something and changing the course of your life, I'm starting up my next group program for coaches this month (you won't even have to ride a Harley):

Time to hit the open road,
