Why I love The Walking Dead

Published: Sat, 10/01/16

I'm catching up on The Walking Dead now, and I'm almost finished the latest season.

I'm not sure why, but I've always had a thing for zombie movies and TV shows.  Not saying that I'm hoping for a zombie apocalypse or anything ...

One of the reasons why I like TWD is because the show isn't afraid to kill off its major characters. In most shows, those who die are the minor characters that you don't care about (the "Red Shirts"), so those deaths don't have much impact ...

The writers of those shows are fearful of a backlash from fans if they kill someone who's been around for awhile, so they play it safe (which gets boring - this is why so many shows "jump the shark" and go downhill after a few good seasons).

But The Walking Dead will kill off a beloved character and leave you thinking about that death until the next episode.

That's powerful.

And how does this relate to business?

Too many entrepreneurs are playing it safe and sticking with things that may have worked before, but are now past their "Best Before" dates.

But instead of changing, they keep doing the same things in the hope that they can regain some of that past glory.

I'm constantly making changes with my business to keep it fresh and growing. I never want to become complacent and afraid to kill off something that I should be killing off.

I'm going to be talking about some of those changes and why it's so important to evolve in a solo episode of Natural Born Coaches that drops on Monday morning.

I hope you listen in, but in the meantime give some thought to things that you know you should be changing up in your business.
