A super simple success formula for coaches

Published: Wed, 10/05/16

I'm a wee-bit tired this morning, since I was up late watching the Blue Jays play their Wild Card game against the Orioles ...

They won in dramatic fashion in extra innings thanks to a big home run, so it likely means a few more late nights this month watching them in the playoffs (I'm not complaining ... before last year it was 22 years since they last made it to the postseason)

Anywhooo, I posted a super simple success formula for coaches on Facebook a few days back.

It's nothing earth-shattering or mystical, but I stand by it:

1) Decide WHO you'll help.
2) Decide HOW you'll help them.
3) FIND those people and help them.

The first reaction that one might have to this formula is ...

"Really? That's it? There has to be more?!?".

Humans, by nature, tend to want to overcomplicate things.

I read a magazine article the other day that showed t this formula in action (the person profiled isn't a coach, but he's a good example ...)

Ray Taaeb was frustrated by the difficult process of finding and renting an apartment. He was sick of looking on different websites, and then signing, scanning and sending files back-and-forth. He figured there had to be a better way, so he started Casalova.

Casalova has grown to more than 250,000 users since it launched in May 2015. It's been called "The Uber of Renting" (I know, I know - the term "The Uber of ______" is overused nowadays - but you can't knock the success of his company.)

Casalova would never have been founded if not for Taaeb going through a personal frustration, and then answering those three questions:

Who will I help? How will I do it? How will I find them?

Figure that out, and you're on your way.

If you'd like help implementing this formula, that's my speciality. Book a call and let's chat about it:
