I'm going to use my
second email reference to the movie Jerry Maguire in less than a week, but I share this because there's an important lesson in it ...
Last night I had my weekly Tuesday evening call with a 1:1 client. She was having some difficulty coming up with a free resource to provide for her industry, so we decided to talk it out.
I sent her the link to read the mission statement from that movie - the one
that Jerry wrote where he laid out what he didn't like about the sports agency industry (after eating bad pizza in his hotel room at 1 AM after a work conference).
I asked her: "What frustrates you about your marketplace?", and "What do you wish people in it would do differently?"
I told her to not hold back at all with this. Be honest and let the words flow out ...
And did they ever!
She had her resource pretty much
done and in place before the end of the call. She had no hesitation, and she was on FIRE.
Sometimes all it takes is looking at a problem a little differently ... and to have a good coach help you see angles that you haven't considered.
