A few weeks ago, I did a
giveaway in The Coaching Jungle Facebook group when we passed 3000 members.
I decided to give out $20 and $50 Amazon gift cards to some members. One of the winners was in the UK, and we discovered that Amazon wouldn't honour the card since her account was based there.
Lesson learned for future giveaways ...
She spent time on the phone with Amazon's customer service to try to fix the issue, and
she told me that the only way to fix it (and to get my 20 bucks back) was for me to call them and:
- verify my account details
- verify my email address and billing address
- confirm the serial # of the card
- confirm the order #
- confirm the claim code
- and discuss the issue with them.
My response?
I
sent her $20 on PayPal and told her to enjoy ...
Both of our time is too important to spend on such a small amount!
I know people who would spend hours trying to save $20, rather than looking at the big picture:
Your time is valuable. You only have so much of it. If you're worth $100, $200 or more per hour it doesn't make sense to spend hours fighting with a customer service rep over
$20.
The winners in business know how much they're worth per hour, and judge everything against that.
Now off to my pitch ...
When I created my Your First 5 Clients program, I knew that people are pressed for time. They don't always have 20 hours a week to put into a program designed to get their coaching business rolling.
I won't lie - it's going to take
more than a few minutes a week. But if you have a few hours a week to put into it, you can do well. You can get started here:
