This weekend, I spent
some time with my brain turned off and taking it easy.
Part of that R + R was mindlessly surfing YouTube and watching some trailers for upcoming movies that I want to see.
One of them that I'm really pumped for is Logan, featuring the X-Men's Wolverine as a grizzled old man fighting bad guys.
It's got a different feel than the other Wolverine movies, and once I heard Johnny Cash playing
in the trailer I was all-in.
I remember a scene back from one of the earlier X-Men movies that always stood out for me:
In the scene, a character named Juggernaut (a bad mutant who can't be stopped once he starts moving) is chasing Kitty Pryde through a building. She can phase through walls, but he just crashes through them while he's in pursuit.
Crashing through walls is something that I've had
to do after almost two decades in business (I started as a wee pup)
If you want to be an entrepreneur, you'll have to crash through a lot of walls. There won't always be a door with a nice clean welcome mat inviting you in.
The ups and downs of being in business - the "Entrepreneur's Journey" - is unavoidable, yet I see a lot of new entrepreneurs surprised and frustrated by setbacks.
If you don't prepare
yourself for the inevitable peaks and valleys, you'll get dejected and feel like quitting during those lows.
I've seen my share of setbacks, and since I'm trying to do big things, I'll undoubtedly see more.
But I'll keep crashing through the walls ...
Will you?
Marc
