What the show Billions gets right about coaching

One of my favourite television shows is Billions.

A big reason why I like the show is because one of the main characters, Wendy Rhoades, is an in-house performance coach for a large hedge fund called Axe Capital.

We get to see coaching play a role in the series, and surprising the show gets it right.

In one of the early episodes, Wendy has to help one of the team members get his mojo back. He's been off his game, but she has a session with him that manages to get him swung around.

I won't say too much (I'm not a spoilers-type-of-guy), but that scene leaves the audience pumped up and wanting to go out and take on the world.

Powerful coaching has that impact on people.

Regardless of your motivation, you're going to need help reaching your goals.

The right coach can do what Wendy did, and get you swung around when you need it most.

A coach can't do everything - the client has to do "the heavy lifting" - but it's a heck of a lot easier with a coach involved.
