Here's why I didn't do any Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales

Published: Sat, 11/26/16

If you're subscribed to any number of lists, your inbox has been filled with "eye-popping" sales for Black Friday and Cyber Monday over the last few days.

You're hearing things like:
- "80% off!"
- "90% off"
- "95% off ... you're CRAZY if you don't buy this!"
- "Heck, we'll pay you to buy our stuff!"

This isn't limited to the Wal-Mart's and Best Buy's of the world ... it's common in the coaching world, too.

I made a conscious decision to not jump into the holiday sales fray this year.

I'm not opposed to selling ... actually, I had a couple-day sale of my program Your First 5 Clients last week.

But I decided to offer it earlier than the Thanksgiving holiday season, and with less fanfare than others do (it still did well for sales, so I was happy)

When it comes to business, I don't do things just because others "are doing it that way".

I like to be different, and stand out from the crowd as much as possible.

My friend Rivers Corbett, a coach in my neck of the woods, likes to say that he runs a business that "zags while others zig".  That's not a bad goal for any business ...

If you're interested in my Your First 5 Clients program, here's the link (there's no eye-popping discount, but it'll help you get more coaching clients!):

Cheers,

Marc
