There's an old saying:
"Patience is a virtue".
Before I
spout off about the important of patience, let me admit that I'm probably one of the least patient people in the world.
It's something that I'm working on in 2017. I'm getting better at it, but I've got a ways to go.
In some ways I have been patient though.
When I started my coaching business, I told myself that it would take time to get it off the ground.
When
I launched my podcast, I reminded myself that I would do it for as long as it took and not get caught up on whether it monetized quickly or not.
When I started daily emails last spring, I took the same approach - just do it, and don't get frustrated if it takes awhile to get results.
So despite my overall poor patience skills, I've been patient where it counts.
In 2017, most people just aren't
patient.
Coaches and online entrepreneurs think they can do something for a week or a few weeks, and it'll give them amazing results.
Boatloads of clients, instant fame, clear skin and a beautiful partner to boot.
Back to podcasting - I see it all the time. Someone releases a handful of shows, and then moans: "I haven't even gotten one client from it - this doesn't
work!!!"
If it was that easy, everyone would be successful.
It's probably going to take time to get results.
I'm not saying to be pessimistic, but be realistic when starting a new initiative.
Tell yourself that it'll take time, so you don't get flustered when it takes awhile for things to happen.
That approach has helped me, and I know it can
help you too.
