Since the Easter Bunny is making her rounds this weekend, and I happen to know her well, I thought I'd share
a story that she once told me:
Years ago, before she was the egg-hiding legend that she is today, the Easter Bunny (or EB, as she insists I call her), carried all of her eggs around in just one basket.
She didn't know any other way to do it, so once a year she plopped her eggs into this one basket and hit the road for a busy night of visiting houses and doing her thing.
That went well for
awhile, until one year she tripped and fell!
Since all of her eggs were in one basket, she was screwed. With the eggs lying in a splattered mess all over the ground, Easter was a huge fail that year.
So the following Easter, EB decided not to make the same mistake. She divided her eggs into a couple of other baskets, just in case something should happen to her main one.
And last year,
she added a fifth basket - to make things even better for her egg-business.
The multiple-basket system has worked well for her. If one of her baskets gets a hole in it, or she gets clumsy and trips again, she doesn't lose all of her eggs. She's able to keep on truckin'.
After she told me her experience, I knew that I had to make some changes with my coaching business.
Like EB, I used to keep all of
my (business) eggs in one basket.
For awhile, 1:1 coaching was my only revenue stream. I had built it up to where it was paying the bills and it allowed me to leave my sales job with a telecommunications company to go into coaching full-time, but it had some disadvantages ...
it was a lot of work, it could lead to burnout, and there were times when there were droughts and the clients weren't coming in as quickly as I would have
liked.
So I added a group coaching program to my offerings.
And I then added online programs that customers could do on their own, without me having to work directly with them.
And then affiliate partnerships (ONLY if the other person's offering was a match for my people),
And then my Secret Coach Club (
www.SecretCoachClub.com), which allowed me to help more coaches who only had to invest a few bucks a day to grow their businesses.
My mind is now racing with other baskets that I can add in the coming years.
More baskets mean more peace of mind and consistent revenue for me, and I expand my reach to help a greater number of coaches with every basket that I add.
Have a look and see which baskets you can add to your business. It's an "eggcellent" way to diversity and help more people.
If you need help setting up a multiple-basket system, hit "Reply" and we'll chat (I promised EB that I would pay it forward since she helped me do the same)
Here's "hopping" this helps,
Marc
PS: one of
the goodies in my online programs basket is something I just launched to help you grow, engage, and monetize your Facebook group. The first people in it are already getting great results - you can check it out here:
