ESPN, the cable sports network, just fired about 100 of their 1000 on-air
personalities.
Some of them were pretty big names, too.
They were "famous" people: former sports stars and some of the smartest people in their respective sports.
It's pretty surprising when 100 television superstars can still get axed (judging by their tweets, many were surprised when they got the heave-ho).
This is why I have a coaching business
...
I could never work under someone's thumb, not knowing if today is the day that I show up at the office and I'm told to pack up my desk and hit the road.
Coaches don't have to worry about that. We can't be fired. Our boss is staring back at us in the mirror.
Sure, if a coach doesn't bring enough value to the marketplace, he or she will be fired (in a sense) since they won't get enough
clients to make it a viable business and will have to find something else to pay the bills.
But if you're able to demonstrate your value and help enough people, you'll soon be turning away people because your practice is full.
I've had the opportunity to help a number of people make the transition from a 9-to-5 job to becoming full-time coaches, and I want to help more.
I've opened up some spaces in
my calendar to connect with people who want to become coaches, or give their existing coaching business a shot in the arm.
