300 is a film that any Facebook group owner can take inspiration from.
The
movie follows the efforts of the small Spartan army (of you guessed it, 300 soldiers) as it battles an invading Persian army of over 300,000 at the Battle of Thermopylae.
Those are crazy odds, but guess who won?
(Spoiler alert: it was the underdogs)
What does a battle from 479 BC have to do with Facebook groups in 2017?
Well, a lot of group owners want a mega, Persian
army-sized FB group, and think they need that many members to monetize it.
Although having a larger group can be an advantage, there are plenty of owners doing very well with pint-sized ones.
Take M. Shannon Hernandez, for example. Her group, Content Strategy Lab, has just 223 members - yet she's been monetizing it very nicely.
She intentionally keeps her group small and intimate, and getting access to
it is no easy task (she rejects about 9 out of every 10 requests to join). Plus she regularly purges those who aren't participating, so her engagement is through the roof.
Shannon agreed to be interviewed for my Group Gold Program, and she spilled the beans on how she makes so much money from such a small group. You won't find this interview anywhere else (it and others with superstar group owners are exclusive to this
program).
This week I've been offering Group Gold for a special birthday week 50% discount - so that's less than $150. To hear how Shannon leads her group like King Leonidas, the leader of the Spartans, go here:
