Behind the scenes of a (barely) 5-figure sale

If you hear anyone tell you that you need a big fat ad spend to sell your programs, think again. 

Back in late June I turned the big 3-9, and decided to do a birthday sale on one of my online programs for that week.

I put my Facebook groups program (Group Gold) on sale, for 50% off its usual sticker price. Despite not spending a cent on advertising and not doing any affiliate push, my little promotion made me 5-figures.

Full disclosure: it just crossed that threshold in the final hours, so I ended up with $10k and change. My sale wasn't 5-figures as in $99,000, but $10k isn't bad for one week of promotion and no ad spend or affiliates. 

I'm not suggesting that it's easy. Like baking a cake, you need to have the right ingredients in place or it's going to taste bad. Those ingredients include: 

- what to sell 
- what price to put on it 
- what kinds of emails/social media posts to put out there
- how often to promote it 
- Etc
