Rebooting your coaching business

Published: Thu, 07/20/17

When the Spider-Man movie franchise was rebooted (again) recently, there were some groans from people who've seen several different reboots in a relatively short period of time.

There were the Tobey Maguire films (2002-2007, which were my favourite), then Andrew Garfield donned the tights in 2012 and 2014 (those movies were pretty bad, IMHO). And then we heard that Tom Holland would be playing the hero in Spider-Man: Homecoming this summer.

I admit, I had my doubts. Don't get me wrong, I like Spider-Man - but it seemed like a lot of confusion and bouncing around for the franchise.

But the new movie has done very well ...

It's made over $200 million at the box office in a few weeks, and it has a 92% rating on Rotten Tomatoes (we took the kids to see it at the drive-in a few weeks ago, and I give it two Marc's thumbs up).

It proves that reboots can work - for movies, and for coaches too.

This week I've talked with several coaches who are changing their niches. They weren't feeling their old ones, and they feel like it's time to change.

There's nothing wrong with that. You don't have to stay married to one particular direction forever. You'll shift and evolve over the years.

Odds are you won't stay married to the same coaching niche for the next 20 years!

It's your business, and your decision. Don't hold back changing niches because you're afraid of what others will say.

Sometimes a reboot is needed: it worked for Spider-Man, and it can work for you too.

If you need a reboot for your coaching business, my 10 Clients In 90 Days group program will help you do it.

The group that starts next Tuesday has filled up, but since I had other coaches wanting to do it but who didn't get into that one, I'm going to run a second group to accommodate them.
