Last year I read about a politician in Indiana running for re-election who
had some pretty strong demands for his drivers:
- transport his toothbrush and toothpaste, and also carry around a 20 item supply box called "The Football" (it includes gum, hand sanitizer, business cards, bottled water, napkins and Kleenex, lozenges, a stapler and stapler remover, Post-it notes and Shout wipes, etc)
- never let Rokita be photographed with a drink in his hand.
- remind him to bring his
phone and wallet everywhere.
- not talk with Rokita or distract him with "unnecessary chit chat".
- have a cup of black coffee ready for him when picking him up at his house, empty the trash, and back the vehicle out of the garage and turn it around so they can drive out of the driveway when Rokita gets in the car.
- notify Rokita of any turns and sudden stops while driving.
(Believe
it or not, there's a lot more than this ...)
Sounds like a pretty demanding guy. And as a coach, you can get demanding clients if you're not careful.
Some will try to dictate when and how the coaching sessions take place, contact you at all hours and expect an immediate response, and message you for things that could easily be Googled. You'll be run off your feet catering to their every whim.
Remember,
you're their coach - not their butler.
If you need help with your mindset and protecting your boundaries, Secret Coach Club will do it. Subscribers tell me that it's completely changed how they do business.
If you implement what every issue teaches you, you'll have a steady flow of coaching leads and you won't have to take on bad clients anymore.
The deadline is tonight at midnight EST, more info
