The other day I read a post on Reddit from a struggling workaholic, who said:
"I’ve come to be such a constant 'go go go' type of person, I genuinely find it difficult to do nothing, and it’s frustrating
...
For context - i’m 29. I have a full time remote design gig that takes a decent chunk of the week, I also freelance on top of that and am also working on my latest app.
I feel lately as if the baton of “you’ve done enough, good job, relax now” is just always every so
slightly out of reach. I’m very much so driven by the desire to be successful to the degree I aim to have that legacy type of success and be that wealthy grandfather one day that has benefited his family and family after him - but I think a lot of my skewed sense of 'go go go' is a ripple effect of how plugged in technology and the internet has made us, that my sense of having any idle time or down time is unwelcome because I could just be working harder and spending more time connecting the
next door(s) for my career and future and entrepreneurial decisions ..."
Hey I get it, and I admit that I've struggled with being a "go go go" person too.
And from my conversations with other entrepreneurs, we're not
alone.
Lots of entrepreneurs feel guilt if they're not working on their business and goals 24/7, and feel the need to multitask when we probably shouldn't be.
It doesn't matter how long you worked that day - you want to take
an hour to relax and watch Netflix before bed? That's not acceptable!!!
Or if you're watching an important training/webinar, you feel like surfing on your phone while doing it (or if you're being honest, scrolling your newsfeeds)
I'm
