The late, great Gary Halbert once told a story
that I’ve never forgotten.
When he was teaching marketing classes, he would challenge his students by asking:
“If you and I both owned a hamburger stand and we were in a contest to see who could sell the most hamburgers, what advantage would you most like to have on your side to help you win?”
The students would
give various answers, like lower prices, better buns, tastier meat, and a prime location …
Then Halbert gave his (and was 100% confident that he would win this imaginary bet):
A starving crowd.
“Feed a starving crowd” is something I advise coaches to do.
Find out what people want, give it to them on a steaming hot platter, and watch them dig in.
To learn more about this, watch the live workshop that I'm doing next Tuesday.
