Les Brown once told a story about Chinese bamboo trees that stuck
with me:
=====
"In the far east they have something that’s call the Chinese bamboo tree. The Chinese bamboo tree takes five years to grow. They have to water and fertilize the ground where it is every day, and it doesn’t break through the ground until the fifth year ...
But once it breaks through the ground, within five weeks it grows 90 feet tall"
=====
The reason the story resonates is it reminds me of building a successful coaching business.
Despite the gurus' promises of making a million bucks in one week, it takes time to get rolling (I'm not saying five years, but it's more than a week).
You do the work and prime the pump by planting the seeds ...
You don't notice anything at first, but then bang! - things start to roll in.
I see some coaches pulling back and relaxing this summer, thinking that they'll have a good fall to make up for it.
The problem is when they start working again in the fall, it'll take time to get moving and for their "seeds" to grow.
If you start planting them in September, it could be 2020 before they sprout.
To have a strong fall, you'll want to start this summer - and it helps to have someone in your corner to help (for less than $84/month ...)
I've opened up my 1:1 laser coaching program again, and there are a few spots left.
I'm closing it down tomorrow night at midnight EST, and you can grab yours here:
