The words you use when you talk to yourself, or with others, are more important than you might think.
I recently read "The Biggest Bluff" by Maria Konnikova, where the author details her attempt at going from being a poker newbie to the World Series of Poker champion in the span of just one year.
During a session with coach Jared Tendler (a past guest of my podcast and a great guy), she commented that she "hoped" she would be able to do something ...
Before she continued, Jared called her on it (poker pun intended) and highlighted the danger of saying the word "hope" in that situation.
It's a weak word, and sets the person up for failure before they've even attempted something.
Like another smart guy, Yoda, once said: "Do or do not, there is not try".
Or Henry Ford: “Whether you think you can, or you think you can't – you're right".
It reminds me of all of the coaches who are now quivering in fear due to COVID-19, refusing to make any moves to grow their businesses because they've convinced themselves that nobody is buying during a global pandemic.
But I know they're wrong .... my business is up over last last year, and Ethan Donati did something big by running a webinar that brought in over $500,000 in about three months in the COVID era!
Ethan is going to be showing how he did it in a virtual event taking place next week.
Even if your goal is more modest than half a million dollars, you'll want to tune in to learn his funnel and apply the lessons to yours.
It's happening on Thursday, August 27th at 6 pm EST and since there won't be a replay sent around afterwards you'll have to watch it live.
